Overview and Solution

NAVAIDS REPLACEMENT PROGRAMME is to replace, within a period of 2 to 3 years, ATNS’ current navigation aid systems, including their supporting infrastructure to address the end of life and partial RNAV 5 support problems and, maintain an overall ground-based navigation aid system that will ensure continuation of service provision and serve as a backup navigation system for GNSS. This is a consortium partnership with Thales South Africa. This project is currently being conducted on 36 sites across the country. This includes the major airports in South Africa such as the OR Tambo, Cape Town International Airport to name a few.
