Overview and Solution

Harambe Technologies was appointed for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Integration, and Maintenance of a Turn-Key Anti-Cable Theft Solution for City of Ekurhuleni Municipality comprising of mechanical, early warning and reaction for the service areas: Alberton, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Edenvale, Germiston, Tembisa & Kempton Park, Springs on an as and when required basis. 

Initial Meetings were held in order to determine the execution of the scope of work as set out in the tender document of the SLA. 

There are 9 DBU’s in the 6 regions that make up the City of Ekurhuleni. These 9 DBU’s were previously split under 3 different service providers.  

In line with the Cities Strategy to provide a Safe Smart City, COE has streamlined their operations in order to take advantage of the long-term benefits of standardizing technology and solutions that will form part of the Cities Smart Safety and Security Measures.  

Since implementation of our underground Anti-Cable theft units in some of the key hotspot areas, the City has seen an immense decrease of cable theft in those areas as criminals are not able to get the cables out the ground. The City has applauded the design of the CATU and BOPA units as well as the ease of installation into their new and existing sites.
